To obtain an accurate quote for the relocation, you need to provide us with accurate measurements, every inch counts. Once we have the measurements, we can quote you based on flight costs and help you choose your crate or we can make them to measure.
But how to Measure?
Four measurements are needed, length, height, length of foreleg, and width of your pet.
- Measure the length from the Nose to the Base of the Tail or Bum.
- Measure height from the floor to the top of the head, or if ears are erect, to the tip of the ear.
- Measure the width at the widest part of the body.
- Measure the length of the foreleg, floor to elbow
Your pet’s crate should allow them to stand, lay, turn around and sit comfortably without touching the sides of the crate. There should be no hunching in the crate and none of its body should be hunched or touching the sides.
At the same time, we don’t want the crate to be too big, lacking that sense of security and cosiness that helps your pet feel safe while in transit. Let’s not forget that freight is usually the biggest expense when shipping a pet, which is calculated on volume. So ensuring a correct size crate will also mean saving some bucks!! A little trick of the trade – if you are struggling to measure your best friend, simply place him against a wall. Then mark the wall in correspondence of the nose, the bum and the top of the head, and measure the distance between the marks.
